BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 1. Azerbaijan and
Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus have discussed the current
state and development prospects of relations in a number of areas,
the Azerbaijani Cabinet of Ministers told Trend.


The discussion took place during the meeting of Azerbaijan's
Prime Minister Ali Asadov with his counterpart from Northern
Cyprus, Unal Ustel.


The sides welcomed the intensity of high-level mutual visits, as
well as the development of inter-parliamentary and political party
cooperation.


The meeting emphasized the importance of cooperation within the
framework of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), noting the
contributions of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus to the
activities of the organization in its observer status.


Moreover, the meeting touched upon the importance of the Meeting
of the Heads of Government/Vice Presidents of the OTS Member States
held in Baku.


The importance of the event was emphasized in terms of
strengthening intergovernmental coordination within the framework
of the OTS and more effectively advancing the common agenda on
priority areas determined by the heads of state.
