Russia expressed gratitude to Azerbaijani authorities for their help in delivering humanitarian aid to Iran, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said at a briefing.
Zakharova noted that Russia continues to provide humanitarian assistance to the Iranian population, which she said faces daily indiscriminate airstrikes by Israel and the US, Caliber.Az reports per TASS.
She recalled that the second large shipment of medicines was delivered on March 27 to Astara on the Iran-Azerbaijan border, with over 300 tons of medical supplies transported by rail. On the same day, a convoy of trucks brought an additional 150 tons of humanitarian aid collected by the Republic of Dagestan.
“We are grateful to the Azerbaijani authorities for their assistance,” Zakharova said.
