Moscow has expressed readiness to restore relations with Tbilisi, provided there are reciprocal steps toward normalisation, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin said.

According to Galuzin, Russia hopes to develop bilateral ties in areas of mutual interest despite existing political challenges. The diplomat noted that economic, transport, and tourism contacts between the two countries are actively expanding.


Georgia severed diplomatic relations with Russia in 2008.
