Air defence systems intercepted a ballistic missile over Türkiye that had been launched from Iran, the Turkish Ministry of National Defence reported.
“A ballistic munition, determined to have been launched from Iran and to have entered Turkish airspace, has been neutralised by NATO air and missile defence assets deployed in the Eastern Mediterranean,” the statement said.
The ministry noted that all necessary measures are being taken decisively and without hesitation against any threats directed at Türkiye’s territory and airspace, and that all developments in the region are being closely monitored with national security as the top priority.
