In Pakistan’s northwestern province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, at least 11 people, including 10 children and one woman, have died, and 49 others were injured in incidents caused by heavy rainfall.

The casualties were recorded in the districts of Bannu, North Waziristan, and Kohat, where torrential rains caused roof collapses and partial destruction of several homes, worsening conditions for local residents, Xinhua reports, citing a statement from rescue officials

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, short bursts of rain may continue across the province until March 31. Authorities have urged the public to avoid unnecessary travel and to strictly follow safety measures to minimise the risk of injury and loss.
