The Islamic Resistance in Iraq (IRI), a coalition of Iran-backed Shiite armed groups, announced that it carried out 21 operations targeting US military bases in Iraq and the surrounding region within the past 24 hours.

In a statement, the group said its fighters employed dozens of drones to hit what it described as “occupation bases,” though it did not disclose the locations of the attacks or provide details on casualties or damage, Sabereen News reports.

The IRI has significantly intensified its campaign against US forces in Iraq since February 28, when the United States and Israel launched airstrikes on Iran. Since that date, formations affiliated with the IRI claim to have carried out nearly 300 attacks on American military installations in the country.
