A massive fire and series of explosions erupted on a rooftop in downtown Toronto during the night between March 27 and March 28, authorities said.
The explosions were caused by propane cylinders rupturing on the roof of a building under construction, with the blasts heard across the surrounding neighbourhood during the evening rush hour, Caliber.Az reports.
The incident began when a fire broke out on the roof, triggering the propane cylinders to explode. Firefighters quickly responded, extinguishing the blaze and securing the area. Officials confirmed that there were no casualties and the fire has been fully contained.
The cause of the initial fire is under investigation, and authorities have said the site will be examined to ensure safety measures are reinforced.
