Azerbaijan produced 4.347 billion kWh of electricity in January–February 2026, down 5.2% from the same period in 2025, according to the State Statistical Committee.


Of this, 4.212 billion kWh was commercial electricity, a 4.9% decline. Thermal power plants generated 3.708 billion kWh, down 5.9% year-on-year, Caliber.Az reports.


Hydropower output fell 32.1% to 276.8 million kWh, while wind power surged 41.6 times, reaching 141.6 million kWh.


Solar power generation totalled 42.7 million kWh, a 1.4% decrease. Electricity from waste incineration rose 28.9% to 42.8 million kWh.


Water treatment and distribution volumes reached 93.8 million cubic meters, up 9.8%.
