Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani has instructed the Foreign Ministry to summon the US chargé d’affaires in Baghdad following an airstrike on Iraqi military units, The Times of Israel reports.
The Iraqi Ministry of Defence and security sources said the strike, carried out on March 25, killed seven soldiers and injured 13 others.
The attack targeted a facility belonging to the Popular Mobilisation Forces (PMF), a coalition of pro-Iranian militias officially integrated into Iraq’s armed forces. The US has designated the PMF as a terrorist organisation.
