Israel’s Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar has expressed strong support for Lebanon’s move to expel Iran’s appointed ambassador, highlighting Tehran’s role in undermining Lebanon’s sovereignty.

The announcement was confirmed via Sa’ar’s post on social media platform X, Caliber.Az reports.

“This is a justified and necessary step toward the state responsible for violating Lebanon’s sovereignty, indirectly occupying the country through Hezbollah, and dragging it into war. We call on the Lebanese government to take practical and effective measures against Hezbollah, whose ministers still hold posts in the government,” Sa’ar said.

According to earlier reports, Lebanon revoked the Iranian ambassador’s authorization to operate in the country and issued an order for him to leave by March 29.
