Iran’s ambassador to Moscow, Kazem Jalali, has warned the United States against any attempt to assassinate Tehran’s new Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, in an interview with Russian media.

Jalali said Iranians are seeking “blood revenge” following the killing of Mojtaba’s father, Ali Khamenei, Al Jazeera reports.

“The people are angry and demand revenge for the bloodshed,” he said. “Naturally, the Americans have faced and will face severe retaliation in the future.”
