New Zealand’s Prime Minister has condemned Iran’s recent attacks on Qatar and other Gulf states, emphasising the importance of diplomacy to de-escalate the crisis.

In a statement posted on X, Prime Minister Christopher Luxon said he spoke with the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, to discuss ways to reduce tensions and return to diplomatic engagement, Caliber.Az reports.

Luxon expressed gratitude to Qatar for ensuring the safety of New Zealand citizens amid the attacks.
