More than 300 people evacuated from countries in the Persian Gulf arrived safely in Poland overnight, according to the country’s foreign ministry.
As reported by Caliber.Az, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland, announced the arrival in a post on X.
The evacuation was carried out as part of the European Union’s rescEU programme. Two aircraft operated by LOT Polish Airlines transported passengers from Bahrain, Kuwait and Qatar.
Among those evacuated were more than 200 Polish citizens. Nearly 100 other passengers were citizens of several countries, including Spain, Slovakia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Czech Republic, Romania, Iceland, Finland, Ukraine, Luxembourg, Lithuania, Norway, Serbia and the Netherlands.
“Welcome home and back to Europe,” the spokesperson wrote.
